On-site shrink wrap applications for preservation purposes ‘an innovative measure’, says UWrap
Shrink wrap machine specialists UWrap has remarked on the news of global shrink wrap service provider’s role in preserving historical US treasures.

Mr. ShrinkWrap, a worldwide provider of on-site shrink wrapping services and distributor of shrink wrap products, materials and supplies, have applied their skills to many landmark buildings and historical artefacts over the years, from the roofs of buildings to vintage steam locomotives. Recently, their custom services were called for to carry out the installation of a temporary shrink wrap cover to a historic structure damaged in a fire last November.

The Glen Echo House, built in the late 1800’s, was once a beautifully maintained and adored historical structure until the 4,500 sq. ft. building began to fall foul to vandals. Quoted as receiving ‘substantial damage’ in the fire that engulfed the second storey and roof, reportedly from an arson attack, the house required urgent attention to protect any further damage from the elements.

With 23 years of knowledgeable experience applying their skills, Mr. ShrinkWrap took on the job of creating a custom 1600 sq. ft. sheet of reinforced shrink film for the purpose of covering the entire roof and preserving the damaged structure from further exposure to the elements.

UWrap, a British company located in Blackpool, in the North West, provides industries with a wide selection of new and used shrink wrap machinery and supplies. Regularly reacting to industry news, research and development, the company believes that the efforts of Mr. ShrinkWrap are notable and innovative, proving the mass diversity of shrink wrapping techniques and their use within preservation of a comprehensive array of applications.

A spokesperson for the company said: “The news that specialist companies such as Mr. ShrinkWrap have assisted in offering resistant, durable temporary preservation measures using shrink wrap is very innovative, offering a proficient way to preserve a number of large scale items, such as locomotives and houses, boats and other vehicles.”

“Although our audience look for shrink wrapping machinery to wrap considerably smaller items, it still is an impressive feat for these experts. The logistics of such an operation are obviously staggering and for this alone we commend their efforts. We feel that this preservative measure offers not only a durable, waterproof solution but also eliminates any additional fixture procedures, providing a quick, safe and ecologically sound solution.”

Providing a vast range of shrink wrap machines, both automatic and manual, L sealers and heat tunnels, UWrap maintain their position as a well-established provider of quality equipment, which can be viewed via their website at www.uwrapmachines.co.uk
