NFS
Technology Group, software solutions provider for the hospitality, facilities
and event sectors, has responded to suggestions that South Africa’s tourism
industry has its work cut out for it.
Despite
claims from Tourism Minister Derek Hanekom that the industry is in a ‘healthy
state’, he has cautioned that in order to improve the attraction for visitors
within what is an increasingly competitive market, the tourism industry must continue
‘sharpening its edge.’
In a
statement from the SATSA Annual Conference, which was held in Spier, located in
the Dutch province of Drenthe, Netherlands, Mr. Hanekom said, “There is an
intensifying rivalry between destinations to attract the lucrative millennial
traveller segment.”
What this
means is that the tourist industry as a whole needs to up their game to beat
off rivalry from other competing countries, particularly across the
Mediterranean and USA too. The African Safari and wilderness trips have always
been a large part of the South African allure but now holiday makers wish for a
larger selection of activities that can be easily interlinked, allowing to plan
as much into their trips as possible, especially when travelling long distances
to their destination.
NFS
Technology Group provide a range of software solutions in South Africa,
designed to help businesses effectively manage all aspects of their operations,

A company spokesperson believes that individual businesses that form the core
of South Africa’s tourism industry could benefit from having the correct
systems in place so that they can offer visiting tourists a more helpful,
informative and professional experience:
