Anti-Online Piracy Specialist Drives Debate

DiCopSys, the anti-online piracy company that’s riding high in Google’s ranking of successful removers of pirated content, has appointed Lexicon PR to spearhead an awareness-raising campaign.  DiCopSys Managing Director Ian Noble says: “Downloading illegal content from the Internet is theft, and organisations are now recognising that they need to deal with this to protect their creative assets.  Over the next six months we intend to get online piracy, and how to combat it, firmly on the media’s agenda.”

Online piracy has become a big business with illegal copying of books, magazines, music, television programmes, films, software and games estimated to be costing the UK’s creative industries upwards of £1 billion every year.  Worldwide, piracy is impacting significantly on revenue for films, television series, books, games and music, reducing the opportunities for the development of new creative products.
