Speed's Appointment Of Soutter Signals Next Phase of Expansion

04 September 2014:

Continuing its growth in the medico-legal market, Chorley-based Speed Medical, the UK's largest independent provider of medical reports and rehabilitation services in the UK, has appointed Thom Soutter as business development manager with specific responsibility for corporate accounts.

Based in London, Soutter will be responsible for building Speed's presence among the country's leading legal firms and insurance companies.

Having worked in the legal sector for the best part of a decade, been client relationship manager at a leading North West law firm at the age of just 25 and, most recently, having spent two years working for an internationally recognised law firm in Dubai, Thom brings with him a variety of experience from both a sales and operational standpoint.

He also has plenty of experience of Speed's philosophy and unrivalled service standards as he previously worked alongside the Speed Medical team when with two leading personal injury firms in the North West.

Soutter says: "I would only have returned to the UK for the right role and a challenge. Knowing the guys at Speed Medical as I do, understanding their drive for change and development, it was an easy decision. My role has been newly created so this is the start of something exciting which is a huge motivator. I believe my background will help me build some significant long-term relationships in an industry I know extremely well."

Commenting on the appointment, Chris Chatterton, Speed Medical's commercial director, said: " We are delighted to welcome Thom on board.
His previous achievements and reputation promise much and we look forward to reaping the rewards of his efforts which can be the catalyst for our further expansion. The last 12-18 months have seen us step things up, with acquisitions and organic development but, with Thom's help, we can still take this business to another level."

Born in 1985 and originally from Manchester, Soutter lives with his girlfriend in East London - in a location and climate he describes as 'slightly different to Dubai.' He is a keen sportsman, with football and golf his main passions.
