Projects announce appointment by City South Manchester Housing Trust as project
managers for £20m development inHulme
City South
Manchester Housing Trust, a Manchester-based housing association, provide a
comprehensive array of helpful services in the local area, providing innovative
services and affordable housing across several districts. Covering Fallowfield,
Hulme, Whalley Range and Moss Side, their investment in homes, individuals and
developing neighbourhoods is helping to reshape residential areas where
community spirit is high on the agenda, where pride in where people live is one
of the main focuses.
The proposed
development will see AA Projects oversee a housing project that is to produce
103 two and three bedroom apartments in Hulme’s Leaf Street, and an additional
65 two and three bedroom apartments in Royce Road. Both sites are situated on
the very outskirts of Manchester City and will be close to a selection of
amenities, with good access to local public transport networks and main routes
into the city centre.
Dave Power,
the chief executive of City South Manchester Housing Trust said of the plans: "We
want to use our experience and partnerships across all sectors, not only to
invest in new homes and services, but also to complement and add social value
to the City of Manchester's ambitious growth agenda and ensure our residents
and neighbours benefit."
Manchester-based
management experts AA Projects react regularly to events, opportunities and
demands within their industry. A company spokesperson believes that the company
involvement in this venture will create sustainable, feasible and affordable
housing for local residents:
“Our
involvement in leading the project management in this exciting venture is
brilliant. Not only as it is local to AA Projects but also because it allows
our experts to help in bringing areas of Manchester back up to levels that will
enable residents to take pride in their neighbourhoods.
“As designs
for the projects are currently ongoing, we are playing a vital role in the
successful execution of all aspects of the planned build, liaising closely with
City South Manchester Housing Trust, architectural engineers and contractors,
ensuring smooth operation upon the commencement of work within each location.”
Adding to
the 4500 properties that City South Manchester took ownership of from
Manchester City Council in 2008, this is just one segment of an ambitious
programme of improvements to make a difference to local communities.
