Exeter’s SunGift shortlisted for
two major ‘Installer of the Year’ awards
Renewable
energy specialist shortlisted for national Solar Power award and South West
Green Energy Award
Devon renewable energy specialist SunGift Solar has two major
achievements to celebrate today after being selected as a finalist in two
separate prestigious ‘Installer of the Year’ awards.
The Exeter company – which has designed and installed systems for
organisations including the Met Office and Darts Farm – was selected by judges
of both the nationally acclaimed Solar Power Portal Awards and the South West
Green Energy Awards.
It’s the first time that the company has been recognised by the national
judges and the sixth time that they have been shortlisted for the regional
accolade.
“This is wonderful news,” said Ellen Rodger, director of SunGift Energy,
based on Christow Road in Marsh Barton, Exeter.
“The team has worked extremely hard again this year, so it’s great to be
recognised for the high quality of service we provide. It’s also reassuring to know that we’ve once
again made the finals of the Green Energy Awards – making us the only organisation
in the region to be shortlisted for an award six years in a row.”
SunGift impressed judges in the preliminary rounds with their string of
high profile installations for organisations such as Gregory Distribution,
Exeter City Council and Plymouth Energy Community. Judges were also won over by their
leading-edge technologies and a raft of customer endorsements on the YouGen website,
which cites SunGift as the most recommended ‘Five Star’ installer in the UK.
“We design bespoke systems for all of our customers – whether they’re a
homeowner with a small amount of space or a business with huge roof – and
ensure that everything is completed to the highest standard. It’s extremely satisfying to be recognised
for this.”
More than 100 entries were received for the awards, and SunGift is now
providing additional shortlist information, which will be judged by an expert
panel of judges including Lord Robin Teverson.
The final glittering awards ceremony takes place on 25 November at the
assembly Rooms in Bath.
Merlin Hyman,
chief executive of Regen SW, said: “With so many fantastic nominations the
judges will have a difficult task in selecting the winners. What stands out
from this year’s shortlist is that the south west continues to lead the development
of renewables, delivering innovation both in products and also in new
collaborative development models with local communities.”
