Charnwood Group launches first BBQ concept restaurant
Pub group, Charnwood Pub Company, is set to ring the changes with its first concept BBQ restaurant opening in Herefordshire on the 26thSeptember. A once-traditional pub in Hereford is set to bring a whole new taste sensation to the county.
BBQs & Brews promises a carnivorous celebration of the American Deep South pit barbecue. Staying true to the "low and slow" barbecue concept, already popular in major cities, London and Manchester, the chefs at BBQs & Brews will be slow-cooking their meat in imported American smokers for up to 18 hours. The restaurant will feature an open grill, outdoor dining, bar and food served from 10am to 11pm.
Unlike some chain restaurants, all meat and fresh produce will be sourced locally and cooked to order. The open kitchen will give customers ringside seats to the smoking process, creating a fun and family-friendly barbecue atmosphere. The tribute to America continues at the bar, pitting American craft beers and smooth bourbons against English cask ales and local craft cider.
Charnwood Pub Group wanted to set up the first of its low and slow restaurants in Herefordshire, as it is the heartland of British beef. European Master Judge in barbecue and Charnwood's consultant Jeremy R. Fowler, says:
"Where better to launch the concept of real BBQ other than in the home of one of Britain's finest herds? Herefordshire Beef has been synonymous with quality for decades and so it seemed logical to take the concept forward from a strong foundation."
The Charnwood Pub Company is a collection of individual free houses from historic coaching inns with rooms to idyllic country pubs with roaring fires.
