Energy companies receive a subsidy for producing
so-called ‘green' electricity and they spend most of this money buying wood to burn

Use Wood Wisely believes energy costs are high enough
without us all paying extra for something that harms the planet

We all pay for the subsidy through our bills; it puts about three quarters of a penny per unit onto the price of electricity.

If we were doing this to combat global warming, it might be worth it but over the next 20 to 30 years, it's actually sending more CO2 into the atmosphere, not less.*
