Yalden DIY wins three top local business awards
Business Doctor Martin Vessey, in Buckinghamshire, has been at the centre of a local initiative to promote a thriving business community, with outstanding results.
The BAT4 initiative, ‘Business and Traders supporting Chalfont St Giles', is geared to promoting the village as a centre of trade, commerce and recreation, enhancing a true village identity.
Sponsored by Business Doctors, The Holiday Inn, the Buckingham Advertiser and online media, the local community was asked to nominate and vote for, the best businesses in specific categories, from Best New Business Start-up, Best for Community Service and Best for Customer Service to Best Employer and Best Company.
The voting took place over a three month period and was designed to raise awareness and encourage trading with businesses in the locality.
‘We have great networking locally with lots of community activity such as beer and music festivals in Chalfont St Giles, but this is a new ‘Keep it local' business idea and has been very successful,' commented Vessey, Vice Chairman of BAT4.
‘It has created a real buzz in the county, galvanising support for local businesses, and as a Business Doctor, I am particularly proud of my client, Yalden DIY and Garden Centre which won three of the awards,' he added.
‘Reaction in the inaugural year, from both the community and local businesses has been outstanding and sponsors are already in place and keen to repeat the competition in 2015,' concluded Martin.
