Home
shopping and door to door consumer products company Betterware has responded to
news that shopping on the go via mobiles have overtaken PC shopping for the
first time in the UK.
In the
latest testament to the importance and freedom that mobile devices offer users
amidst their busy lifestyles, a report has found that visits to retail websites
using smartphones and tablets has overtaken those made from home desktop PCs.
52% of traffic monitored throughout the last quarter was from mobile devices, a
huge mark up over previous years.
In between
May and July of 2014, there was £24.2bn spent online with a staggering £8.7bn
being spent using smartphones and electronic tablet devices. The figure has now
shifted to place the majority of consumer purchases now being made from mobile
devices to tablets and then smartphones, outlines the report.
The IMRG is
the UK’s industry association for online retail and their Capgemini Quarterly
Benchmarking Report contains information on online consumer buying trends in
Britain every three months.
This quarter
it revealed that 36% of UK online sales are now carried out on smartphones and
tablet devices, with that figure rising to 40% for clothing websites. The chief information officer at IMRG, Tina
Spooner, spoke of the rise in mobile shopping, saying:
"With
over half of all e-retail traffic now coming via smartphones and tablet
devices, the latest results reveal a huge landmark in the growth of mobile
commerce. Considering that as recently as 2010 mobile visits to e-retail sites
accounted for less than 3% of traffic, this latest milestone represents
staggering growth of 2,000% over the past four years."
Possibly one
of the oldest and most reputable door to door home shopping companies operating
in the UK today, Betterware offer a unique range of consumer goods, ranging
from goods for the kitchen, around the home, cleaning products, health and
beauty and much more. As a leading UK company that make full use of their

A
spokesperson for the company welcomes the report findings and believes that
further advancements in how we shop online will be tailored even more to fit in
with our busy schedules, a move that is expected in the near future:
“The move
towards more sales being generated via mobile devices shows that technology now
allows a greater level of accessibility when wanting to browse for online goods
at times when convenient with the user. For companies such as ourselves, where
although our customer delivery services are the foundations of our business,
the internet is becoming a bigger part of our operations and will continue to
be, which is why we’ve created a mobile/tablet friendly website to enhance our
customer’s ordering experience.”
