East Yorkshire brewery shortlisted in Hull Daily Mail Business Awards
A Yorkshire coast brewery is in the running for the Small Business of the Year in the Hull Daily Mail Business Awards 2014.
Wold Newton based Wold Top Brewery has expanded on its local following in the last 18 months by supplying demand in Europe and further afield with customers in Italy, Sweden, Norway, Finland, The Falkland Islands, Ireland and Canada.
The Brewery, which won the Green Award in Hull Daily Mail Business Awards in 2013, has also established its own bottling company to cope with increased demand and provides 17 jobs in the rural area.
Gill Mellor, brewery owner, said; "For a small brewery that has come a long way since our beginnings in 2003 with no paid staff, we're delighted to reach the final in the Small Business category in these awards.
"This latest success is testament to the tireless hard work of our small team - I'm very proud of them."
The Hull Daily Mail Business Awards ceremony will be held at Willerby Manor Hotel in Hull on Thursday November 20.
Politician Lord Mandelson is set speak at the ceremony where he is expected to share his thoughts on the future of East Yorkshire with guests.
Farm-based Wold Top Brewery brews traditional real ale from home and Wolds grown malting barley, the finest hops and pure, chalk-filtered Wolds water.
