NEWS:Future performance car technology to be showcased in the UK

PRESS RELEASE

 Release date: 14th  October 2014

Future performance car technology showcased at Advanced Engineering Show

A new concept in performance car technology will be demonstrated for the first time at this year’s Advanced Engineering exhibition by actuation systems specialist MarchantCain.

In an industry leading move, MarchantCain will present its  advanced concept active aerodynamic system at the show, which takes place between November 11-12. The innovative new technology, has been developed by MarchantCain and is already featured on a German performance sportscar.  MarchantCain believe this technology will positively change the way performance cars and eventually mass volume vehicles are manufactured and perform, enabling designers to meet lower emissions obligations. The electrically actuated system is electronically controlled making it lighter and faster than existing hydraulic systems.

The innovative new system is just one example of a number of cutting-edge technologies that the company is currently developing for the niche performance vehicle sector, which has been accelerated following the appointment of a new Interim Managing Director David Williams. With over 20 years automotive experience, David’s appointment will strengthen the business’ capability enabling founder and Managing Director, Rob Marchant, to concentrate on developing MarchantCain’s core technological products and innovation activities.

Prior to joining MarchantCain, David Williams was Chief Executive Officer of Egbert Taylor Group, and has considerable experience working at such companies as GKN, Thyssen Krupp and Rolls Royce Aerospace.

David Williams said: “This is a very exciting time to be involved with MarchantCain as they launch their new active aerodynamic system and what better platform to do this than at the Advanced Engineering show. The company is developing some really ground-breaking technologies and working with vehicle manufacturers such as Porsche to develop these into really cutting-edge products.”

Rob Marchant added: “It’s really exciting to be able to launch our new active aerodynamic system at the Advanced Engineering show and to see our idea turned into reality. We constantly look for better, more efficient ways to design and manufacture low volume vehicles, and we have a number of exciting projects in the pipeline for the niche vehicle market. We’re expecting this launch to be the first of several over the next few years.
