Thixendale business celebrates success in local food competition
Directors and staff at a Thixendale business are celebrating the third award win for its latest product.
Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil's new Oak Smoked Oil, a collaboration with East Yorkshire business, Staal Smokehouse, won the Best Condiment award at the inaugural Beverley Food Festival and East Yorkshire Local Food Network Awards that were held at Tickton Grange last week.
Commenting on the award, Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil's Jennie Palmer said: "We had a great night at the Awards Supper and were delighted that the judges like the Oak Smoked Oil as much as we do!"
This success comes on the back of a win in the Best Cooking Oil category of the national Farm Produce Awards in July and being awarded Two Gold Stars in the Guild of Fine Food Taste awards in August.
Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil has also been shortlisted in the Farm Diversification Innovator category in the British Farming Awards that will be announced on 23rd October.
Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil's Oak Smoked Oil is hand crafted and smoked over oak and apple wood for a fuller flavour. It is available from farmers' markets, farm shops, delis and independent retailers throughout Yorkshire and the South East.
Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil is used in Michelin starred kitchens, including the Pipe and Glass at South Dalton, and all products are preservative, GM and gluten free and are suitable for vegetarians.
