Gaia's DEVI electric underfloor heating system has been installed throughout a new development of one-bedroom and studio apartments for students in Cambridge.
Called The Newton, the development, for Chard Robinson Construction, comprises 23 high-specification apartments on the site of the old Fleur de Lys hotel.
The flats, which are on sale at prices starting at £140,000, are designed to "blend sophisticated interiors with modern home comforts" and are intended for occupation by students.
The original Victorian building has been completely reconstructed to modern British standards and the facade faithfully re-built, integrating original features such as the sandstone pillars and lintels.
Inside, the building is entirely modern, with each apartment isolated from neighbouring properties with double block cavity walls, low voltage LED lighting in every apartment and Gaia's DEVI underfloor system throughout.
Paul Thompson, contracts manager with installer ABS Electrical, said that this was the first time he had worked with the DEVI system.
"It was chosen because Gaia is a reputable company with a good track record. We found that the service was excellent and the system very good to work with. Gaia's technical back-up was superb", said Paul.
The underfloor system was completed in December 2013 and the project completed and handed over to Chard Robinson on schedule in May 2014.
