Scheduling software giants NFS Technology
Group react to news that SME leaders in hospitality and leisure sector are
struggling with their workload.
An
independent study monitored individuals running small leisure and hospitality
businesses across the country and in a stark revelation, 42% of decision makers
reported how ‘exhausting’ their business commitments were.
Commissioned
by First Data Merchant Solutions, The YouGov survey showed that a staggering
63% of small to medium leisure and hospitality company decision makers are so
busy with work responsibilities that they have had to sacrifice important
personal time and occasions with their own families and friends. Even passing
off their own birthdays in order to ensure the smooth running of their business,
which happens to 1 in every 5 business owners.
Missing
birthdays, anniversaries, events in the lives of children and social gatherings
adds nothing but more strain to what can be an already high stress career, a
complete turnaround for over 40% of people starting up their business in the
hospitality and leisure sector to gain the benefits from a ‘more flexible
working hours’.
The YouGov
study also pointed out that first expectations were quickly dismissed as an
astonishing 70% claiming that running a business in the leisure and hospitality
sector is a ‘constant challenge’.
