A junior football team in Stafford has been given a huge boost by a local housing association.
The youngsters of Stafford Rangers Stripes have got off to a solid start to the season in a new kit sponsored by Housing Worx, a subsidiary company of Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH).
The under-14s side is managed by SARH Technical Officer, Craig Royall, whose son also plays for the team. He said the sponsorship deal will help the club achieve further success in the Mid-Staffs Junior Premier League.
"We're delighted and grateful for this support," Craig said. "Running a junior football team is a tough task and we ask a lot of the parents, so the support of local businesses and other organisations is vital to our survival.
The Stripes squad is made up of 17 players from the Stafford area and a number of them live in properties owned and managed by SARH.
Since 2012, Housing Worx has delivered a range of improvements to SARH properties, including the installation of new kitchens and bathrooms. SARH customers benefit from greater choice and an improved service and SARH saves money on previous arrangements. Profits generated by Housing Worx are invested into building more affordable homes.
Chris Poulton, Director of Asset Management and Development commented: "We recognise that sport plays an important part in building vibrant communities and we are delighted that Housing Worx has been able to support the Stripes in this way. We wish the lads every success this season."
