Work Starts on Tulip's £16m Cornish Expansion Plan

 PRESS RELEASE

Work Starts on Tulip's £16m Cornish Expansion Plan.

Work has started at two of Tulip's manufacturing facilities at Redruth and Bugle as part of its £16m expansion plan in Cornwall which the company first announced in July of this year.

A significant part of the investment is being made at Tulip's de-boning facility in Bugle, where work is already well underway to build a new car park in preparation for the site's expansion, which when complete will see it become the largest de-boning facility in the country.

Work has also began in Redruth in preparation for the demolition of an existing packaging store, with the installation of a new state of the art air drying and linear curing facility, due to commence in February 2015, enabling the site to grow by around 40% and become a centre of excellence for wet, dry and Wiltshire cured pork products.

Commenting on the project, Tulip's Group HR Director, Kirsty Wilkins explains; "Work is now well underway to expand our Bugle production facility enabling it to become the largest de-boning operation in the UK and at Redruth, where we will be creating a truly world class centre of excellence for wet, dry and Wiltshire cured pork products, which is fantastic news for the Cornish region."

As well as Bugle and Redruth Tulip has production facilities at Bodmin and Westerleigh in the South West of the country and an additional twelve manufacturing sites across the rest of the UK.
