Top UK office furniture suppliers, Bevlan, have responded to
a report released by the Office for National Statistics that retail sales have
received a boost over October and the rise is expected to continue.
The Office for National Statistics report reveals that sales
volumes have risen by a higher than expected 0.8 per cent, largely due to the
increase in furniture sales. This is largely due to falling prices and a surge
in the housing market, but office furniture has also received a small boost,
with the office furniture industry seeing increases throughout the world. In
America, the office furniture index saw an increase which was a seven year
high.
David Cameron, the British Prime Minister, has high hopes
that at least on a short term level, the recent inflation decreases and wage
increases will help the economy continue on its path to recovery, as well as
earning himself a second term in office. While the global economy worsens, it
seems Britain is set to have a strong final quarter for 2014.
Lancashire Company Bevlan respond often to industry news and
have found the rise of furniture sales an expected on, due to their knowledge
in the sector. A spokesperson for the company said, ‘The rise of furniture has
happened for a number of reasons, and we’ve seen an increase in our office
furniture orders. While the housing market surge has helped see an increase to
general furniture, trends such as the seven year high for office furniture in
America, has been seen within the UK too. UK shoppers and businesses are eager
to spend now more than ever thanks to the recession peeling away, and wage
increases and inflation decreases should help.
Going into more depth about office furniture, the Bevlan
spokesperson also stated ‘An office kitted with great furniture can help make a
strong impression on visitors and clients who come by, while providing a
comfortable environment for employees. Our furniture mixes class with
practicality, and as the economy continues to improve, we hope to aid even more
businesses with their office interiors.’
