NFS Technology Group responds to news that Edinburgh and Manchester have some of best performing hotels in Europe

NFS Technology Group, a provider of software for hotels, have reacted to survey findings from STR Global which identify Manchester and Edinburgh hotels as some of the best performing on the continent.

According to STR Global, a company specialising in worldwide hotel data, RevPAR of 15.3% for Manchester and 10.2% for Edinburgh was recorded. In total, RevPAR hit €79.78 in Manchester and €99.14 in Edinburgh in the month of October, helping to drive RevPAR for the United Kingdom as a whole by 5.9% to £72.52.

On the other hand, ADR and RevPAR for Germany fell by 3.7% and 2.2% over the same period, while Russia dropped 1.6% and 13.5% respectively.

Managing director of STR Global, Elizabeth Winkle, said: “Each month this year, Europe has reported either flat or positive performance in the three key performance metrics. October performance was no different. Actual average daily rate (€110.42) for the month was the highest rate we’ve seen in any October in the past 10 years. Compared to last year, ADR increased 3.8 percent. The ADR growth is driven mostly by Northern Europe, with help from Southern Europe.

“Year to date, Western Europe still is achieving the highest actual ADR levels (€117.34) of all sub-regions.”

NFS Technology Group, providers of roomMaster, one of the UK’s most used hotel software systems, regularly follow related industry news.

A spokesman for NFS Technology Group said: “Our system is used by 6,000 hotels around the world, many of them located in the UK, so it’s no surprise for us to see that that hotels in cities like Manchester and Edinburgh are performing strongly while others are struggling. British hotels are some of the best in the world and they only get better when you visit the busier and more historic cities, places like Manchester, London, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Cardiff.

“One of the ways in which hotels and the hospitality sector in a more general sense have been able to continue growing in Northern and Western Europe is that there is a real hunger for innovation, you only have to look at the number of software solutions like roomMaster in use to see that.”

NFS Technology Group provides software to clients around the globe. They have offices in the United Kingdom and South Africa and can provide you with the tools needed to better manage your hotel. Visit the roomMaster website today at www.roommasterpms.co.uk for more information.
