Dumelow
International Ltd, a UK-based seller of reconditioned tractors, has responded
to news that a new EU-wide innovation network, EIP-Agri, is to be created to
help farmers.
A new network
has been set up by the EU to help farmers and agricultural experts in Europe to
quickly and easily get the solutions they need to their farming problems.
EIP-Agri has
been funded by the European Commission with the goal of becoming a go-to source
for agricultural innovation for farmers in the EU. The project will aim to take
research from lab to field, sharing results, findings and best practices with a
thriving network of researchers, farmers and also agricultural advisers.
It's hoped
EIP-Agri will encourage more productivity, better management of resources,
lower emissions and a new found farming resiliency. If farmers have certain
difficulties they'll have the ability to put forward recommendations for
research projects and every year as many as seven of these could be taken and
made into focus groups. These projects will also be funded by EIP-Agri.
While groups
will also be shown support and given help so that they can find the right
funding, there's optimism that research projects will also receive funding from
the Rural Development Programme of each country. Groups that have success will
become known as “operational groups” and will undertake the research.
Any findings
and best practices will also be accessible at any time via the EIP-Agri
website, ensuring that farmers throughout Europe benefit from the research.
There are
already thousands of newly registered users and hundreds of research
suggestions on the EIP-Agri website.
Dumelow International
Ltd, a seller of reconditioned tractors, often share their thoughts on news
related to the agricultural sector. They believe the new plan will be of real
benefit to farmers in Europe.
A
representative for Dumelow said: “This new innovation network will go a long
way towards helping farmers in Europe get the resolutions they need.
Initiatives like this are why Europe is one of the best places in the world to
be a farmer and we’re sure in a short space of time this tool will be something
utilised by a sizable percentage of farmers.
“The goals of
the network are something we can agree with. Resource efficiency, productivity
and lower emissions are all values we support with the supply of our
reconditioned tractors.”
