DPF cleaning specialist invests in cutting edge technology for fleets

A national automotive parts reconditioning specialist has made a significant investment in new equipment, designed to help fleet owners and truck operators to reduce carbon emissions, lower company car tax, and save running costs.

DPF Clean Team has invested in new state-of-the-art cleaning equipment that will enable it to clean up to 1,000 Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) units a month for fleets, cars, light commercial transport, and heavy goods vehicles. The five-figure investment will also create three further team member roles within the fast-growing Leicestershire-based firm.

As Government legislation tightens, costs rise on higher-emitting CO2 vehicles, and individuals are hit with higher benefits-in-kind rates, fleet operators are being forced to raise their green agendas. Cleaning DPF units instead of having to fork out for expensive replacement parts can provide a far more cost effective maintenance option for fleet operators.

Cameron Bryce, Director of DPF Clean Team, which already works with many of the UK's car supermarkets, Leicestershire Metropolitan Police Force, Avis and Europcar, explained: "There is a strong link between CO2 output and fleet costs because emissions are proportional to the volume of fuel a vehicle burns, as many are aware.

"What people may not be aware of is that, just like any other component on their vehicles, the DPF unit requires regular maintenance and cleaning because the cost of replacement can be high. Regular checks and cleaning can also improve efficiencies, which can fall as the unit gets clogged, an extremely important consideration for fleet managers looking to keep costs on an even keel throughout the year."

The sizeable investment and new job creation marks DPF Clean Team's commitment to continually providing the highest quality service to fleet operators throughout the UK. The company is also dedicated to funding new technology, which provides the most cost-effective solutions for its customers.

The new equipment not only cleans DPFs, but the dry-cleaning process is also used for a host of different automotive components which can be expensive to replace if they become worn.
