Happy Kombucha, a leading UK seller of probiotic foods, have
commented on last month’s KombuchaKon 2015 announcement by Kombucha Brewers
International.
The announcement, which was made in November by Kombucha
Brewers International (KBI), revealed that the conference, KombuchaKon 2015, is
set to take place on 7 February 2015 in California.
In all, upwards of 50 member companies from across the world
are set to descend on Santa Monica, CA, to discuss the industry and share
ideas, concerns and experiences. Gt Dave of GT’s Kombucha, a company
established in 1995 and known for trailblazing the way for others, is set to be
the Keynote Speaker in 2014.
Alex LaGory and Hannah Crum of KBI said: “The hard work of
our membership to establish baseline safety and operating templates will help
protect the whole industry by ensuring all member companies will have the tools
to be compliant and up to the code from day one. We work hard to continue to
create a safe space for Kombucha brewers to come together and discuss the inner
workings of the industry. As a young, growing industry, our membership has
unique needs that KBI aims to support through the educational sessions and
panels at KombuchaKon 2015.”
The announcement came just weeks before the World Allergy
Organization recommended that pregnant women and breast-fed infants should be
given probiotics in an effort to prevent allergies.
A prominent seller of probiotic products in the United
Kingdom, Happy Kombucha often share their thoughts on news and research related
to the industry.
A spokeswoman for the company said: “The fact that KBI
exists and in the space of a couple of years is already attracting leading
industry figures from around the world is proof enough of the massive
popularity explosion of kombucha and other probiotic drinks in recent years. No
matter what country you’re in, whether it’s the UK or USA, anyone with their
ear close to the ground of the health food sector will have heard about the
fermented beverage and its many supposed health benefits.
“And with more and more mainstream exposure and new studies
shedding light on how the drink can help people stay healthy, we don’t think it
will be long before it’s commonly found on supermarket shelves.”
