Cornwall was voted number one, the sixth time since 2009, with Northumberland claiming second and Devon winning third. The three were voted for via public votes, and Cornwall found success in another category, winning the bronze award for Best UK Coastal Resort, with Bude.

The British Travel Awards is a prestigious event, the largest awards program in the UK for rewarding companies in travel. A wide range of categories for all holiday experiences are involved, including destination, accommodation and transport, with over 1.25 million votes from over 100, 000 votes helping destinations such as Cornwall reach the top.
