Dorset printers combine to provide top quality service to customers
Two Dorset family printers, Remous Print and Shelleys The Printers, have combined to provide a multi-faceted service to businesses in the Dorset and Somerset area.
Remous Print, based in Milborne Port, acquired Shelleys at the beginning of November 2014 cementing its 10 year relationship with the Sherborne based printing company. Alan Bunter, Director of Remous Print, said, "There has been a great synergy between our two companies for a long time as we are both family based businesses, created in the 1980s and serving businesses in the Dorset and Somerset areas for a number of years."
Glenn Coombs, who previously headed up Shelleys, becomes a Director of Remous and commented, "Remous has handled Shelleys' binding and digital printing for a considerable time and now with their recent new press installation which offers 21stcentury ‘Lightcure' technology, it makes perfect sense for the two companies to combine. Our clients will still receive the same high quality graphic design service they have always enjoyed, but with the added fire power of Remous's print facilities and a dedicated production manager."
The premises in Sherborne will remain together with existing staff from Shelleys and the Shelleys brand, with the entire litho colour printing being produced on the new press in Milborne Port, and spot colour work being printed in Sherborne.
Remous recently hit the headlines with a brand new machine, the first of its kind in the South West and one of only four in the UK. The Komori HUV uses unique light-cure technology so that everything printed is instantly dry, plus it is more vibrant and consistent than traditional print. This means that rather than waiting for drying the printed sheets are ready immediately to be turned and printed on the reverse or trimmed and folded. Customers requiring a very fast turnaround on premium quality litho print will now be able to benefit from this leading edge technology.
Alan Bunter said, "We are delighted to be able to end the year by offering our customers the best combination of people and technology for all their design and printing and fulfilment requirements"
