Dorset based Rothbury Publishing has launched a new set of fascinating sought after nostalgic images which it is making available to collectors who are keen to take a trip down memory lane.www.rothburypublishing.com
Retailers attending the annual Spring Fair, held at Birmingham's NEC from 1 - 5 February, will be amongst the first to see the 33 new images that revive memories of bygone eras from the Victorian Age to the 1950s. The prints are taken from paintings from a range of well-known artists, many of whom are from the West Country and include Eric Bottomley from Wimborne Minster and Robin Pinnock who is well known for his depictions of Yeovil and other Somerset railway train lines. In fact Rothbury boasts one of the biggest collections of prints depicting nostalgic transport images in the UK.
Particularly interesting in the 2015 releases are two prints which show scenes from the First and Second World Wars. The first image from artist Robin Pinnock depicts the new recruits boarding the train to go off and fight for their country before they have even got their uniforms. Another image by Kevin Walsh shows the VE Day Celebrations.
The business is also launching its Memorabilia packs at the Fair and these will be available to purchase direct from Rothbury for the first time. The packs consist of various paper ephemera and subjects vary but include the Victorians, World War II, Railways, Motoring, 1960s, and Titanic.
Rothbury Publishing was established in 2000 and specialises in nostalgic transport images by the very best artists in their field. The range now exceeds over 1000 designs comprising greetings cards, calendars, postcards, prints and jigsaws. These are much sought after by collectors and are sold in various retail outlets including transport related museums and railway centres. They are also available at events around the country as well as post offices, garden centres and card shops and can also be ordered from the website:www.rothburypublishing.com.
The business is owned by Dorset-based Remous Print which also prints all the images in the collection to ensure the best quality and consistency of print.
