Remove My Car recycling target
service recognised by BIS
Vehicle recycling specialist Remove My Car has had its ELV recycling target service recognised by the Government’s Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS).
As of January 1st this year, a more stringent legal requirement was introduced to vehicle manufacturers and Authorised Treatment Facilities (ATFs) requiring them to meet 95% recycling targets on end of life vehicles (ELVs).
Remove My Car has launched a new system dedicated to helping ATFs achieve 95% recycling targets. This is being made possible by providing an enhanced vehicle reporting system and significant post shredder residue contributions to Remove My Car’s extensive recycling network. Furthermore, this comes at no cost to affiliate members.
Remove My Car has been working with BIS who have recognised that the company has put sufficient processes in place to ensure that increased recovery targets can be achieved for obligated parties in 2015.
On a recent visit to inspect the post shredder processes by which this is achieved, Paul Hallett from the BIS environmental regulations team confirmed the recycling routes Remove My Car has secured to help ATFs meet their targets. Remove My Car’s network will now contribute significantly to the achievement of 95% recycling targets.
Remove My Car Managing
Director Steve Queen said: “It’s a great achievement to gain this
confirmation from BIS, which demonstrates Remove My Car’s ability to guarantee
recycling targets for its members. We will continue to support and work with
the ATFs within our network to improve the achievements of the recycling
industry”.
