BITZER UK introduces new LHE condensing units that meet new EU directive

New from BITZER is a range of LHE air cooled condensing units which feature the proven ECOLINE reciprocating compressor with in-built capacity control for maximum operational efficiency. Under the requirements of the EU's 2015 Ecodesign Directive, fans are now the subject of greater efficiency requirements and the LHE range meets this need through the incorporation of EC (electronically commutated) fans.

The new LHE condensing units are designed for a wide range of applications including air conditioning, medium temperature and low temperature refrigeration applications. They offer highly efficient and flexible performance and are available with displacements of 4 to 110.5 m³/h. As modular units, they can be supplied in different configurations, including both single and tandem compressors. Refrigerant compatibility includes R134a, R404A/R507A, R407A, R407C, R407F and R22 as well as low GWP HFO refrigerants and HFO/HFC mixes.

The new EC fans use less power than the AC versions used in previous generation LHE units. The airflow has also been optimised to reduce operational sound levels. Speed can be adjusted using conventional regulators.

Further LHE design innovations include a mini-channel heat exchanger that increases the capacity of the condensing unit without increasing its overall footprint. This heat exchanger offers an outstanding heat exchange capability and, thanks to its use of five millimetre pipe technology, the volume and weight of the unit is also reduced. With a robust copper and aluminium construction, the heat exchangers are also exceptionally weather-resistant and the weatherproof housing gives further protection to the unit as a whole against the elements.

Importantly, the LHE units have the same connection sizes as the previous series LHE units, making retrofits very straightforward for the contractor. Thanks to identical interfaces, the mini-channel heat exchanger can also be simply replaced if needed
