Leading office interior and furniture supplier, Bevlan, have recently revealed sales figures for 2014, which show an increase from 2013.  

Sales have increased 52 per cent over 2013, making it the best year for the company in 30 years of trading. The recession coming to an end has contributed to the rise, and the furniture industry as a whole has seen improvements in consumer spending, thanks to the improved economy.

The Furniture Industry Research Association (FIRA) released a positive Statistic’s Digest for the whole industry in January, containing industry figures between 2010 and 2013. It showed a general increase across the whole industry, with improved manufacturing performances for beds, kitchens and office and shop furniture. Consumer confidence was considered to be one of the contributing factors to the industries recent success.

The technical services manager for FIRA International and author of the report, Dr. Peter Beele said, ‘Increased retail sales of furniture and furnishings in 2013 were reflected in UK manufacturer turnover which rose to in excess of £7 billion, which is the first time this level has been reached since 2010.’

The report doesn’t contain any data for 2014, but with Bevlan’s increase in sales, the figures are expected to be positive for the industry.

Bevlan’s planned improvements for the year to continue the momentum include new vans for transporting furniture and extra staff to help with the increase in business.
