Leading UK Hog Roasting Company, Liverpool Hog Boss, have
recently commented on the newly released Smarter Guidance and Data review for farmers
by the Department for Environmental Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) which aims
to help farmers save time.
The Defra run review’s main goal is to help new businesses
learn about their obligations, cutting time by 80% on set up. The review
includes a number of questions, including questions on pig farming, and it
focuses on what environmental rules apply to businesses.
A spokesperson for Defra said, ‘Over the next 12 months,
Defra and its regulators will make significant progress to reform environmental
guidance on the gov.uk website.’
A range of questions in the report focus on pig farming with
the questions ‘How do I set up my business or report a change in circumstances
as a pig farmer?’, ‘What are the rules on reporting pig movements?’, ‘What are
the rules on pig identification?’ and ‘What are my recording/reporting
obligations as a pig keeper?’ included.
These question each lead to the relevant up to date
information on all the obligations and guidelines available for the pig farming
industry. Additional information will be included over time, with any new rules
and regulations instantly added for farmers to keep on top while saving time.
Often commenting on industry news, a spokesperson for
Liverpool Hog Boss said, ‘The Defra review should of great use to farmers
across the country, and their results will feed back to businesses like us who
act as clients for the farmers when obtaining the hogs.
The review will make farms stick to strong environmental
standards, which will improve the quality of everything grown or raised within
the farms. At Liverpool Hog Boss, we always use organic pigs for out events,
and the taste is simply divine no matter how it’s served. Stuffed into a hog
bun with salad and apple sauce is a popular choice at events, and groups love
the rich taste that comes from the high quality meat.’
