Invitation to the Press Launch of a moving and important Holocaust event.

Artist Julian Hanford has launched FALL, a unique and vast installation event to commemorate the 6 million plus victims of the Holocaust.

Launched simultaneously with a commemorative single and video release, the campaign will run for the next few months to raise the funds necessary to empower FALL. The crowd-funding is being administered through www.phundee.com, who specialise in supporting the arts.

FALL itself is a huge monument made up of 6,000,000 2 inch high specially designed tiles, similar size and shape to domestic dominoes - the installation with cover 7,500 square metres - the size of a soccer pitch.

Hanford says ‘The FALL experience is a worldwide call to action to emotionally re-engage with the terrible events of 70 years ago, and reframe the memory of the Holocaust for new generations - with the distinct message that we must never let these things happen again. It is designed to create a sense of utter awe at the scale of this atrocity.'

Like all new ideas, the project has engendered some strong reactions even at this early stage, in equal measures of enthusiasm and reticence. ‘This kind of reaction is only to be expected with a subject of this sensitivity and gravity' says Hanford, ‘but we are committed to cut through cynicism and stop the world for a second to think.'
