‘SING LOUD SWEET CHARIOT' TO RAISE MONEY FOR A GOOD CAUSE!
This September, everyone is welcome to come along and join thousands of other singers (some from choirs, others just rusty amateurs) to sing and raise money for a very good cause. TheVoices for Hospices Choirinvites all-comers to join itsMassed Come and Sing Event on Sunday 27 September at Kempton Park Racecourseto singThe Armed Manby Karl Jenkins CBE, accompanied by a professional orchestra. What's more, Karl Jenkins himself will be present for the performance in the afternoon.
The event is part of the Festival of Rugby, a series of events supporting the Rugby World Cup. Singers, their families and friends from around the world are welcome for what promises to be a great family day out.
It is well acknowledged that singing regularly has many benefits: it is good for the heart, the lungs, the brain and the soul! Singing with a choir is fun - the body produces ‘feel good' hormones called endorphins, which rush around the body when one sings. "There are lots of choirs locally," says John Sutton, musical director for this event as well as Hampton Choral Society and Ember Choral Society (Esher). "Whether you are in a church, rock, school or college choir, choral society or if you used to sing and fancy taking it up again, please come along and help us make a great concert for a great cause."
Hospices benefitting from the event include:Princess Alice Hospice;Shooting Star Chase;Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity;Naomi House & JacksplaceandOakhaven Hospice Trust.
Tickets at £25 per person for singers and £10 for non singers and children under 12 come along for free are available now on the website vfhchoir.com
