Parties
battle it out on future of energy in Westcountry
General election energy debate held at
Renewable Energy Marketplace on
21 April at Westpoint, Exeter
Just weeks before the general election, leading political
parties are taking part in a debate on energy policy and role of renewables.
The debate takes place at the Renewable Energy Marketplaceshow at Westpoint near Exeter on
21 April 2015.
Those taking part in the debate include:
- Lord Robin Teverson, Lib Dem
spokesman for Energy and Climate Change
- Ben Bradshaw, MP for Exeter, Labour
- Diana Moore, prospective parliamentary
Candidate for Exeter, Green Party
- Neil Parish, MP for Tiverton and Honiton,
Conservatives.
Merlin Hyman, Regen SW chief executive,
said: “The security of our energy suppliers, level of bills and role of renewables
such as wind and solar power are key issues here in the Westcountry. As the
election comes closer we are delighted to be able to give people the
opportunity to pose questions directly to the politicians on their energy plans
in the next parliament.”
Renewable Energy Marketplace puts local
companies that manufacture, sell and install renewable and energy saving technologies
in front of famers and landowners, local businesses and the general public. It
features over 80 exhibitors, a green car show with a range of electric vehicles
and is attended by some 1,500 people.
