HD number plate reading offers long-range identification

Introduced to the UK by access security specialist Nortech, the ANPR Access HD can be operated in standalone mode or combined with their Norpass PC-based access control software to manage admissions to sites.

Unique to the industry, Nedap’s ANPR Access HD offers dedicated capabilities for seamless access control without adaptation, unlike other products.

Nortech’s MD Stephen Blackler said “We’ve been supplying the standard Nedap ANPR system for two years and it has proved very popular for those access control applications where vehicles can’t be issued with electronic tags.”

The product has been proven to work with several leading access control systems, establishing itself as the ideal solution for vehicle access control and barrier-free entry applications. The HD sensor combined with powerful IR LED lighting enables it to read number plates, ADR hazard plates, etc. in challenging circumstances at distances of up to 10 metres.

It is suited to commercial car park facilities, corporate sites, visitor management applications, retail parking and airport parking.

While Nortech develops its own access control and vehicle management systems, the company has become the main UK distributor of Nedap’s ANPR systems, as it believes the system to be ahead of its field for tag-free vehicle access control.
