FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Cornish Interior Design and Architectural Practice Gains National Recognition

Camellia Interiorsin Newquay has recently experienced a surge in prominence across the UK, with a spate of high profile projects and award recognition - gaining the attention of the national press in the process.

The coastal design specialists received some prestigious exposure this month when Design Director Elaine Skinner was selected for The Sunday Telegraph's ‘My Space' feature, which explores the work spaces of the UK's leading artists, designers and musicians.

Elaine, who lives in Pentire, was pictured in her home study where she finds inspiration from a collection of favourite objects and design pieces, and impressive views of the north Cornwall coast.

She follows in the footsteps of interior designer Sophie Conran, DJ Jo Whiley, TV Presenter Kirsty Allsopp and artist Gavin Turk - all of whom have recently been featured.

Elaine said: "I'm a strong believer in the strength of Cornish design and creativity so it was great to be selected for this feature; it highlights the fact that you don't have to be at a desk in central London to be part of a great design practice."

Camellia has been delivering design services for residential and commercial projects in Cornwall for over ten years, working from an impressive studio and design library on the Treloggan Industrial Estate.

Their experience and distinctive approach has led to them securing several high profile projects recently, including managing the entire renovation of a five-bedroom, three-storey private house on the seafront at Looe to an exacting specification.

This project has been shortlisted in four separate categories in the highly-regarded International Design and Architecture Awards 2015, including the Beach House category.

Another project - the transformation of a humble house and half-built extension at Mawgan Porth into a stylish getaway retreat - has also been shortlisted for two International Design and Architecture Awards for its impressive living space and home cinema.

Elaine said: "Yet again we have shown that you don't have to go outside of Cornwall to find cutting-edge design, build and project management services."

Despite these recent successes and recognition in the national press, the team at Camellia won't be resting on their laurels - they have other exciting projects and developments in the pipeline.

Elaine explained: "We are constantly developing our offering and gaining greater experience with every project we complete; it's a highly competitive industry and we are aware of the need to constantly innovate."

She added: "The team we now have has taken a lot of fine tuning and I couldn't be happier with everyone that's working here. My team understand the needs of our level of client, talk in their language and demonstrate their passion, and that's evident in the recognition and credibility we have gained."
