Labcell has introduced the Decagon Devices AquaLab TrueDry CV-9 moisture content analyser that handles up to nine samples simultaneously. Simple to use yet giving the operator control over critical parameters, the compact TrueDry achieves an impressive repeatability of 0.01% while providing considerable efficiency gains; if 12 samples per day are analysed, the TrueDry can save many hours of labour each year.

For each set of nine samples, just four minutes of hands-on time are required. From the LCD touchscreen, users select the drying temperature and whether to dry for a specified time or to a constant weight. Fully automatic digital monitoring of sample weight means the analysis runs unattended.

Rather than heating the sample chamber, the TrueDry uses heaters and sensors just millimetres above and below the sample for precise temperature control. Furthermore, the drying process is finished by passing desiccated air over the sample to ensure each sample in every analysis is dried to 1% relative humidity.

The TrueDry enables quality assurance and product development laboratories to benefit from the precision of oven methods and the efficiencies of loss-on-drying moisture balances - but without driving off more than just water. Users can work to AOAC, ASTM or ISO standard oven moisture methods, with sample moisture contents from 0.01 to 99 per cent and sample sizes of 1-35g.
