T A Savery wins Queen’s Award for International Trade

As a business that has successfully been exporting products for the last 60 years, T A Savery & Co has long been championing British manufacturing overseas with subsidiary operations throughout Europe and the rest of the world.

The company’s Chairman, Sul Sahota, said that this award was testament to the company’s innovative design and manufacturing processes, which all take place in the UK. He said: “We are delighted to have been awarded one of the most celebrated and high-profile awards for commercial success – the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade which celebrates the very best of British industry.

“We have been designing and manufacturing all our products from the UK and exporting them overseas for many years and we owe this award to our staff, stakeholders, suppliers  and quality processes here in the UK, and to our strong global network of distributors, agents and service centres.“

T A Savery designs and manufactures hydraulics solutions in the UK for customers internationally and currently has operations in China, Germany, the USA and an office in India. Savery Hydraulics design and manufacture hydraulic systems for sectors such as the Ministry of Defence, the energy sector and automotive, and recently designed and installed a hydraulic ring main system at Jaguar Land Rover.  Oleo International designs and manufactures elevator, rail and industrial buffers in the UK and has a strong sales presence in countries such as Sweden, France and Australia. Oleo recently manufactured the world’s largest elevator buffer system, which will be installed into some of the world’s tallest buildings. The buffer is the only in the world designed to support elevator drop speeds in excess of 20 metres per second, surpassing the previous record of 11 metres per second. Continuing this theme of British innovation leading the world, the business also has the world’s tallest buffer testing tower situated on site at its Coventry plant. T A Savery is also breaking records after recently unveiling the world’s first ever ecommerce website for Hydraforce hydraulics products.

Both arms of the business pride themselves on great British design, engineering, and quality and Sul Sahota said that this USP still holds gravitas in overseas markets.

He concluded: “The profile of UK manufacturing overseas is still very strong and we have always worked hard to maximise opportunities for our products in overseas markets as part of our ambitious growth strategy. This award is a great accolade for our work to-date and gives us fantastic motivation to build on this international success for further growth.”
