New mid-tier rapeseed oil brand launched as British alternative to Olive Oil
A new everyday British Rapeseed oil has been launched to satisfy consumer demand for a cost effective and versatile alternative to Olive Oil.
Thelittleseedbrandof Everyday British Rapeseed Oilhas been developed by Yorkshire farmers Adam and Jennie Palmer, who have been growing and bottling rapeseed oil for almost a decade.
Of the rationale for Everyday British Rapeseed Oil, Adam Palmer said: "Our research suggests that provenance, value for money and versatility are high on shoppers' agenda when buying oil and that there is a degree of confusion in the cooking oils category.
"Everyday British Rapeseed Oil is a mid-tier, mid-price oil that is suitable for frying, roasting, baking and dressing. The 60% of consumers who have between one and three different cooking oils in the cupboard can now replace them with one that does it all."
According to Kantar, sales of rapeseed oil grew by 39% to £12.2m to March 2014.
Everyday British Rapeseed Oil is made from 100% British grown, cold pressed rapeseed and the RSP is £2.99 for a 500ml bottle. The Palmers are committed to the future of British Farming and 10p from every bottle sold will be invested in an educational website. The brand will be supported with PR and a social media campaign that will major on the oil's versatility.
Everyday British Rapeseed Oil is suitable for coeliacs, vegetarians and vegans.
