7th May 2015: Author of the new, shortlisted historical fiction novel, Lusitania R.E.X., Greg Taylor, is currently on board the prestigious Cunard centenary cruise. The Queen Victoria left Southampton for seven nights from 3 May to 10 May. The ship anchored at St Peter Port, Guernsey on 4 May, sailed to France (5 May), was at sea yesterday (6th) and arrives at the site where the Lusitania sank (Cobh, Ireland) today - 7 May. It will then travel via Dublin and return back to Southampton on 10 May.
There will be a commemorative service involving all the passengers this afternoon including the offering of floral tributes. The Lusitania sank in just 18 minutes after it was first hit by the torpedo on May 7th1915 at 2:10pm.
