Journalist and broadcasterJon Snowwill host the discussion with guests including the film's directorAmir Amirani, executive producer and comedianOmid Djalili, convenor of the Stop The War CoalitionLindsey Germanand professor of international law at UCLPhilippe Sands(more guests to be confirmed soon).
Adam Johannes, Secretary of Cardiff Stop the War Coalition, said: "Over a decade on, I look back in anger. The war happened. A million Iraqis lost their lives. We see racism against muslims whipped up and a bonfire of civil liberties. I hope as governments continue waging war on the poor at home and abroad we will once again see millions in the streets around the world.
"I will never forget the hope we all felt that day. The unity, solidarity and internationalism. As two million marched in London we knew millions were doing the same around the world. At its height we built a movement with an estimated 500 branches in Britain and over 50,000 activists and won the argument against war with the wider public. A 2013 opinion poll in the Guardian showing that over two-thirds of people in Wales today now agree we were right.
"I still recall a crisp cold morning getting to the National Museum in Cardiff to get on a Stop the War Coalition coach to London and seeing coaches not only outside the museum, but forming a ring right round City Hall, the University and the Welsh office too, with hundreds piling onto them. All along the motorway on the way we were passed by coaches - all heading to the same place!"
WE ARE MANY director, Amir Amirani, commented: "On a cold February day in 2003, I was in Germany for the Berlin Film Festival. I found myself on the streets, marching with 500,000 people against the Iraq War. Like many others, it was the first time I'd demonstrated about anything. On returning home, friends told me of the amazing day in London, where the crowd was two million strong. The Guardianlater said that up to 30 million people might have marched worldwide. This was my light-bulb moment. I realised that it didn't matter where you marched - there was even a demonstration in Antarctica - the important thing was that you took part. I felt that day, 15 February 2003, heralded something, a new phenomenon that went to the heart of the public's relationship with politics and each other. I also realised that something like that does not just happen. There was a story to be told."
