You get more for your money with SterlingOSB
11mm SterlingOSB works out at 45.2% cheaper than imported softwood plywood
Price is always a major factor in commercial decisions and, when it comes to buying panel products, recent research shows that almost three-quarters of purchasers would choose oriented strand board if it were 40% cheaper than plywood.
Now a study carried out for Norbord by Circle Research has found that 11mm SterlingOSB works out at 45.2% cheaper than imported softwood plywood.
SterlingOSB is a direct competitor of softwood ply in many applications and has equivalent - if not superior - strength and durability.
SterlingOSB is easy to cut and drill and resists splitting, making it an easy product to work with.
It also has the advantage of being, literally, a home-grown product, made in Scotland from native trees. It is therefore more readily available than ply, all of which is imported, and notches up fewer carbon-miles, making it more sustainable.
SterlingOSB in 11mm thicknesses is therefore a clear winner in terms of value for money. And, while heavier grades of SterlingOSB are only 24.6% cheaper on average, no-one can deny that you get much more for your money with SterlingOSB.
