SHARP CITY CHEF DEMONSTRATES KNIFE SKILLS!

[image]Andrew Jones, executive chef atChamberlain's in Leadenhall Market, showed over 70 chefs, food producers and suppliers from across the capital how to fillet and pin bone a whole mackerel last week. He was invited to participate in a Global Knife Skills Master class for The Chef's Forum, which held an event at Parlour restaurant in Kensal Green. After Andrew's demonstration, apprentices from Hospitality Industry Training (HIT) Chefs' Academy took part in a knife skills competition, part of which involved filleting and pin boning a whole mackerel as earlier demonstrated by Andrew.

"The purpose of these events is to forge links between top chefs, producers and suppliers and the rising stars of the hospitality industry. Events like this show just how valuable the links between education and industry can be." Said Andrew.

Event organiser Catherine Farinha said: "It is The Chefs' Forum's aim to shine the industry spotlight on the latest cooking trends and techniques being used in the best London kitchens. This is to enhance knowledge of professional chefs and to inspire the next generation of chefs, showing them just how great their careers will be."
