Can You Produce Music for Dance?
Music Tech conference
Brighton Dome
5-7 June
StreetDanceMixes.com (SDM) are on stand B7 at the Music Tech conference in Brighton, looking for the best mixes and tracks for street dance crews and choreographers in 2015.
Visitors to the stand can win AKG 271 Mk II professional headphones by registering at the new site.
www.streetdancemixes.comis a fresh new site which has just gone live with a simple objective: to enable DJs to upload their tracks and market them to street dance groups, teachers and choreographers. In turn, choreographers and dance teachers will be able to purchase and download professional quality music in just a few seconds.
All music producers and DJs have to do is go to the websitewww.streetdancemixes.comto register and start uploading. .
StreetDanceMixes (SDM) will enable producers and DJs to upload their music, set the amount they want to sell it for, and take payments. SDM will also take care of all relevant license, ensuring legal compliance for the music sold.
Co-founders, Rich Constance and Matt Britton, will be looking for creative and original tracks for streetdance crews. Rich explains: "We make the whole process easy, and everyone gets paid for their work. DJs don't have to worry about all the legalities - so everything is legit."
Rich Constance, himself a streetdance DJ with an impressive track record of mixes for award-winning crews both in the UK and United States, says: "So many producers work through the night at their DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) producing some brilliant tracks and great mixes. But too often they only get heard by a handful of people. We want to help get their music out there to a wider audience. And we are making it possible for them to sell their work not just locally, but all over the UK and worldwide."
Dance choreographers and teachers will be able to search the site for music by artist, track and genre. They can listen (at reduced bit rate) to try before they buy, so they always know what they are getting. Downloading a mix will take seconds.
Rich says: "Dance teachers and choreographers won't need to worry about where to get a decent mix or track edit from, or spend hours making their own. They can search our site and select quality music and be ready to rehearse straight away.
"A good dance routine won't be awesome unless the music is awesome too. Mediocre won't do, it lets the crews down. Much better for choreographers to download quality tracks from streetdancemixes.com and free up their time to concentrate on the routine. They can buy exclusive rights too, so no-one else can use the same mix for comps."
Rich and Matt plan thatwww.streetdancemixes.comwill become one-stop-shop for music event organisers, choreographers, promoters, DJs and producers with information, downloadable guides and tutorials.
