Norbord staff celebrate 30 years of SterlingOSB production

 Norbord, has celebrated SterlingOSB's 30^thanniversary with a party at its Inverness plant

Wood panel manufacturer, Norbord, has celebrated SterlingOSB's 30^thanniversary with a party at its Inverness plant.

The UK's largest manufacturer of engineered wood products marked this incredible milestone with a celebration for all employees, retired employees and their families to enjoy on Saturday 6 June. 

A bouncy castle, bungee run, inflatable slide, colouring competition and much more was available for the children to enjoy while the adults were able to tour the mill and see the changes that have been introduced over the years.

Jerry Jones, site manager of Norbord's Morayhill plant, said: "Over the last 30 years, we have witnessed many changes, and have always remained at the heart of the Inverness community as well being the UK's number one OSB supplier.

"Our incredible staff here at Morayhill are what makes our company so successful. Their dedication and spirit has been unfailing and made us a stronger company as a result.  We have forged strong community relationships and grown to become one of the largest employers in the area so we thought a celebration for the whole family to join in would be the perfect way to celebrate this milestone. I hope everyone had as much fun as we did and look forward to further developments at Norbord in the future."

The Morayhill plant, which produces Sterling OSB (oriented strand board), opened in 1985 and, over time, has grown into one of the largest employers in the area. In addition, Norbord has become a hugely valuable contributor to the regional economy and associated businesses across the north of Scotland, with more than 1,000 people in associated industries having close business links with the company.
