PRESS INFORMATION ON BEHALF OF CLEGG CONSTRUCTION

ISSUED: 17th June 2015

£9M WORTH OF NEW CONTRACTS FOR CLEGG ACROSS YORKSHIRE

Clegg Construction has secured new contracts worth £9m across Yorkshire, covering a range of different sectors and locations and reflecting the company's growth plans since its Leeds office was launched three years ago.

The contracts include a £5m speculative warehouse development at Wakefield Europort for Mountpark Logistics. The new 135,000 sq ft facility will house internal offices and join other organisations such as Asda, Royal Mail, Haribo and Keuhne & Nagel at the prestigious distribution and business park, which is located off junction 31 of the M62.

Clegg is also appointed on a £3m scheme for the University of Sheffield to provide an extension to its Casting Technology Institute, which will create the largest ceramic shell mould facility in Europe. This research and development unit on the Advanced Manufacturing Park at Rotherham will provide leading edge facilities for large scale ceramic casting investment mouldings.

Schroder Real Estate Investment (SREIT Property Limited) has awarded Clegg a £1m contract to carry out improvement and repair works to the Arndale Centre in Headingley. The works are the forerunner to future improvements to the 1960s shopping centre, which was acquired by Schroder in 2014.

The contracts form part of over £20m worth of work currently on site for universities and educational establishments across the country, including a £3.75 million contract for the University of Leeds' to transform the School of Mathematics into a 21st century learning facility. Clegg Construction's business development manager, John Dixon, said:

"These latest contracts demonstrate that we are firmly established in Yorkshire and continue to grow and build on our earlier success."

Clegg Construction is part of the Clegg Group, which was established in the Midlands as a small family business in 1930 and has grown to become a nationwide operation with a turnover in excess of £100m per annum.

The Leeds office was established in 2012, and has already been involved with a number of high profile Leeds city centre contracts including the £4m refurbishment of 21 Queen Street for Formal Investments and the £5 million refurbishment of Minerva House, now known as Minerva on East Parade on behalf of Evans Property Group, as well as £2.1 million contract to regenerate 9 Bond Court in Leeds on behalf of Northern Trust.
