MEDIA RELEASE
Wimbledon print supplier from West Country scoops the double!
19 June 2015: South West based Remous Print has several reasons to view June as an exceptional month. For the last 30 or so years the company has supplied the All England Lawn Tennis Club with much of its print material for the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships, but this year Remous Print has even more reasons to celebrate June as it scoops two top prestigious local business awards organised by the Western Gazette.
Awarded Family Business of the Year and Best Business Website at last night's awards, the 35 year old West Country business from Milborne Port has embraced the changing digital world, adapting print to new markets and investing in an innovative technologically advanced press (the Komori HUV press is the first in the South West and only the fourth in the UK) which offers clients faster, better quality print.
Director Alan Bunter explains the significance of the Wimbledon contract: "A year or so after my father Graham started Remous he was approached by a rep from London who had moved to the West Country and was looking for a printer who could help with some of the brochures and leaflets required by the All England Lawn Tennis Club. With regular work coming in from such a prestigious client Graham built a new workshop and then expanded again in 1982 to the old glove making factory. By 1985 the business grew again and Graham had a bespoke printing works built on the site which was extended in 1997 when Remous bought K S Press in Yeovil."
In the past year the business has expanded from two to three sites, and now employs 22 staff - up from 16 last year. The recent acquisition of Sherborne-based Shelleys has brought additional design capacity, and increased and expanded the local portfolio as well as adding more services for existing customers. With a range of clients from start-up businesses to international freight companies and longstanding clients like the All England Lawn Tennis Club, all clients are assured of the same attentive service which puts the customer first.
Alan said, "We are delighted to have won two Western Gazette Business Awards, and to have been a finalist in the Small Business Award too. It is always an honour to have your achievements recognised by your peers and I want to thank our brilliant team without whom none of this would have been possible."
The winners of this year's awards were announced at Westlands, Yeovil on Thursday, 18 June.
