Briggs helps create an inspirational garden

for a deserving Walsall family

Cannock-based Briggs Equipment has teamed up with famous TV gardeners to make dreams come true for a deserving family from Walsall.

The company, which is based in Orbital Way, is supplying a JCB telehandler to the makers of Alan Titchmarsh's popular garden makeover TV show Love Your Garden.

In the first programme of the new series, which aired yesterday evening (Tuesday, June 23), Alan and his team of professional designers, horticulturalists and contractors surprisedNina PerrinSeedhouse and her three young children. Nina's husband Gareth had just started to make a garden in their new home when he lost his battle with cancer last year. Now, it's up to the Love Your Garden team to transform the small empty space, creating a magical play area for the children and a chill out zone for Nina along with a host of special features.

The JCB telehandler is on loan to the TV show from Briggs Equipment's short-term hire fleet. It can lift up to three tonnes to heights of over seven metres, so canhandle pallets of patio slabs and sacks of turf with ease.

Alan and the team will use the equipment to create a little bit of paradise for eight families around the country, each with a heart-breaking but inspirational story to tell. Filming of the eight episodes started in mid-April and is set to continue until July. The one-hour programmes will air weekly on ITV1 at 8.00pm until August.

Briggs Equipment's National Rental Manager Allan Parsons says: "We are delighted to help the makers of Love Your Garden transform ordinary domestic gardens into wonderful outdoor spaces. Each garden is designed and built to a very high specification and meets the particular needs of the individual families involved."

Now in its fifth series, Alan Titchmarsh's Love Your Garden is Britain's most watched gardening programme, with estimated viewing figures of around three million. With the exception of the soaps, it is also ITV's most watched programme in an 8.00-9.00pm weekday timeslot.
