Ada Lovelace may not be a house hold name like her brilliant but scandalous father Lord Byron, however her contribution to history is far more significant than you may think.
Ada Lovelace is credited for inventing the first computer programme. This was an impressive feat in 1842 as no one else had thought of computers in this way and that they could be an extension of our imagination. Computers today we rely on hugely, after all I am writing to you on one, the building (if new) you are sat in would have been designed on one and think of all those apps on your phone.
You may not have heard of Ada Lovelace before but her life is no less colourful than her fathers she was reported to have started a relationship with Charles Buggage at the age of 17 and was also a keen gambler. Her amazing story may be a little unknown in history but that is because women often don't feature I history. Zoe Philpott intends to highlight the amazing work women have done in a new one women show starting with Ada Lovelace.
Award winning performer Zoe Philpott has created a one women interactive show championing Ada Lovelace. The show talks about Ada's remarkable life and her contribution to society all acted out by Philpott and a light up LED dress. The performance is spell bounding, funny and frank blending comedy with science and knowledge. Philpott intends to then highlight other women in history and tell their story in a regional tour.
To raise the money for Ada Ada Ada Philpott will be crowdfunding it on Phundee
