PRESS RELEASE: MONDAY 6 JULY 2015
LIVESTOCK FARMERS URGED TO INSTALL RENEWABLE TECHNOLOGIES
A leading provider of green energy technologies is urging Britain's livestock farmers to take advantage of cheaper energy and generate new income streams by installing solar PV or wind turbines on their land and farm buildings.
Nottingham-based Spectrum Energy Systems is exhibiting at Livestock 2015, 8-9 July at Birmingham's NEC, to highlight the viability of diversification into renewable energy production for many of the nation's landowners including farmers.
Livestock 2015 includes 13 exhibition zones, including one dedicated to Diversification and Renewables, where the Spectrum team will provide thousands of livestock farmers visiting the show with free advice and information about the benefits of installing solar PV arrays and wind turbines; renewable technologies made more affordable thanks to Government incentives including the Feed-in-tariff and Renewable Heat Incentive.
Spectrum Energy Systems, established in 2011, specialises in supplying and installing solar PV arrays and wind turbines in a range of sizes for clients including farms, schools, businesses, communities and domestic sites.
"Our focus is very much on finding the right technology and the right financing options for each of our clients. Roof solar projects for farms across the UK continue to keep us busy, and there's also growing interest in smaller wind turbines now that the technology is becoming more affordable. In some cases we've managed to help clients cut electricity bills by up to 75 per cent," says Paul.
Confidence in the renewables sector is riding high and demand for Spectrum's services is on the increase, especially from the farming community where incomes are under extreme pressure. Consequently Spectrum is making the move into manufacturing wind turbines in the UK, in a bid to provide a quality engineered product at a competitive price and to bring skilled engineering jobs to the Midlands.
Under an exclusive agreement with Pioneer Wincon, one of the leading wind turbine manufacturers in India, this summer Spectrum will commence manufacture of its WTG P250kW turbine, a well-engineered, highly durable and reliable turbine with in excess of 20 years' service around the world.
"With the launch of our own British-manufactured P250kW wind turbine in the Nottingham area we'll be looking for several sites. We're encouraging anyone who thinks they might have a suitable location to come along to see us at Livestock 2015 and discuss the possibilities," said Paul.
Spectrum is also the main UK agent for Italian company ESPE's technologically superior FX range of wind turbines, ideally suited to Britain's unpredictable weather conditions.
"We work with some of the industry's most highly-rated renewables systems, which give our clients the confidence to decide on the products that best suit their site, budget and needs," added Paul.
