My Car Check- the UK's No.1 consumer vehicle data provider - has saved millions of people from making an expensive used car mistake. In these monthly bulletins its used car experts reveal significant trends in the UK market andchoose a ‘car of the month'.
Head of Valuation Services at My Car Check, Gavin Amos, said:"The Porsche Boxster represents great value as a used car and many envious onlookers will think the buyer has spent a bucket load more cash than they actually have. Even at around ten years old, the ageing second generation 987 variants still look fresh today. Boxster offers an exhilarating drive no matter which engine you choose and the chassis is nothing short of superb. When it comes to negotiating, remember, as well as revealing a car's history, My Car Check also provides vehicle valuations - a great tool for haggling with dealers or private sellers."
As to market trends, Amos said: "July brings little change to the used car market. Although demand has tailed off slightly due to the holiday period, used values remain relatively stable. Only older vehicles, in particular those with higher than average mileage, have seen reductions this month, mostly just 1-2%.
"With the downsizing trend continuing, Corsa, Fiesta and the Korean competition are thriving.
"The SUV market continues to go from strength to strength and every manufacturer wants a piece of the action. Nearly all are either already selling, or in the process of unveiling, new variants. Renault are entering the fold with new Kadjar, Suzuki have the new Vitara and Seat are about to launch a new A-SUV model. These will create an even more congested sector with consumers spoilt for choice.
"During the holiday season we historically experience a plateau in enquiry levels, allowing dealers to focus on new registration orders for delivery in September."
