MASSED CHOIR CHARITY CONCERT SET TO MAKE A BIG NOISE!
Everyone is welcome to come along and join thousands of other singers (some from choirs, others just rusty amateurs) to sing and raise money for a very good cause. TheVoices for Hospices Choirinvites all-comers to join itsMassed Come and Sing Event on Sunday 27 September at Kempton Park Racecourseto singThe Armed Man : A Mass for Peaceby Sir Karl Jenkins CBE, accompanied by a professional orchestra.
Bookings are streaming in for this great event. Nearly 30 choirs from all over the UK (and one from France) and hundreds of individuals have already booked tickets. Sir Karl Jenkins himself will be in attendance for the afternoon performance. The organisers were delighted to receive encouragement recently from Bill Beaumont, Chairman of the RFU, who is pleased to learn that as well asThe Armed Man : A Mass for Peace, the gathering will also be singing rugby anthems, accompanied by the massed band of theHonourable Artillery Company.
The event is part of the Festival of Rugby and supported by Surrey County Council and the Richmond Music and Drama Festival. Singers, their families and friends from around the world are welcome for what promises to be a great family day out.
"There are lots of choirs locally," says John Sutton, musical director for this event as well as Hampton Choral Society, Ember Choral Society (Esher) and Compton and Shawford Festival Choir (Winchester) "Whether you are in a church, rock, school or college choir, a choral society or if you used to sing and fancy taking it up again, please come along and help us make a great concert for a great cause."

The event will also provide a platform for 24 young people from theNational Citizens Serviceto learn new skills and work within their local community.
